Willy Wonka B-day Lunch...

I went out for a b-day lunch this week with one of my students from a few years ago. I was her 3rd grade teacher and she is now going into 6th. Even though the years have passed, I have remained good friends with their family. We went to Max Brenner's in Union Square. It is a restaurant that serves great food but is most known for their chocolate and fun desserts. I thought that the meal was delicious and I was stuffed before we even though about dessert. If you know me, sweets are okay but I don't HAVE to have them. Let's just say that I was curious and intrigued by all of the chocolate creations but I couldn't even begin to dent my dessert because I was too "chocolated" out. Does that make sense? If not, let me be a little more clear. It was good but I felt like I was going to hurl for the rest of the day if I smelled chocolate or if someone mentioned it. It was just TOOOOO sweet! Smore's pizza....Powdered sugar waffles waiting to be topped.....

Chocolate filled syringes.....

"C" ordered the Smores concoction with marshmallow fluff, chocolate mousse, caramelized bananas, a smore, and a little beaker of pure chocolate sauce.....

Her mom ordered the Banana Split Waffles with bourbon vanilla ice cream, caramelized bananas, and chocolate truffle....

I got the Melting Chocolate LOVE Heart Cake (their play on the lava cake) with a chocolate and raspberry center. There was a flask of melted chocolate, vanilla ice cream, and an iced milk chocolate shake shot. It was delish but I couldn't even begin to finish it. Ugh!

It was sooooo cute! I loved the way they plated their food....

Yes, it needs more caramel! Ha!!

Getting some more chocolate from her little beaker....

I had to join in on the fun and start pouring chocolate everywhere too. Look at my face...I had no idea where I was pouring it...wasn't even looking...ha! I just wanted to pour the chocolate.

Forget pouring the chocolate....just take a shot! Ha!

I saw this saying painted on the wall as we walked out and I HAD to take a picture. Too funny! Thanks for the fun day girls!!
