Hangin' with family...

Aren't these little guys cute? My brother, Royce, has 5 boys and I was lucky enough to get to hang out with them for a day. Here we are taking silly pictures and laughing at the instant images on my camera. I got to hang out with these two little guys....Then I slept out on the trampoline with the two older boys. Don't let Arizona fool you...it was SUPER cold in the night. I woke up around 3 in the morning and thought that we had drifted up into the clouds. There was a misty fog surrounding us and it was REALLY chilly!My sister-in-law made LOTS of yummy food.....My nephew played the piano for me and it was wonderful. Great job "C."Then little "E" and I made popcorn to pass out to everyone for an afternoon snack. Yum!It was a fun day....thanks guys!

Sunny Arizona...

I flew to Arizona to visit my family on Sunday. The Spring blossoms were JUST starting to appear in NY when I left. It was fun to be greeted in AZ with a WHOLE different kind of spring flower. I love the sunny colored blossoms....beautiful!

Welcome to NYC!

I had fun on Saturday night. I took Alex, Jose's nephew, to walk around Manhattan for his first time. He moved here from El Salvador a week ago and he had never really walked around the city. We had fun taking in some sights and enjoying the crisp air as we snapped bunches of pictures and walked for miles. Welcome to NYC Alex!Grabbing a chicken kabob for dinner......Times Square.....

Wow....my cheeks were RED after our night in the city. Cold!

Macy's Flower Show 2010

Is it REALLY that time of year again? It just seems like yesterday that I started going to see the Macy's Flower Shows. In reality, this was my 4th year! Wow.......For the first time....I was disappointed! I usually leave the store in complete amazement of how beautiful the displays are. I thought that they were pretty weak this year and that the flower supply was very scarce. Maybe they are scaling back because of the economy? Maybe it is a more simple approach? Regardless....it was fun but not like other years.Outside display windows........

St. Patrick's Day!

Forget the corned beef and cabbage...just eat GREEN! What should you eat on St. Patrick's Day? How about some yummy spinach ravioli! I made these (heated them up.....yup...very hard work) and they were tasty! I love what the box says....perfect for St. Paddy's!Oh, and what else could be better than some nice Queens graffiti. I was walking down the street on St. Patrick's Day and happened to see a green wall. So, here you go....enjoy!

Flower fashion....

I think that these flowers are soooooo pretty! Have you seen all of the blouses that have come out this Spring with these kinds of flowers? I thought I had "scored" last night because I saw two tops that I REALLY liked. I didn't end up getting them though because the arm holes were SUPER huge and showed WAY too much. Oh well....I am sure I will find a nice blouse out there that has these cute flowers. (Oh...yes, I was the crazy one with my camera in the changing room who was taking pictures of these flowers....ha!)

Super foods...

So, I have been eating a lot of sweet potatoes lately. I have always eaten them but not in the same way. I used to put butter and salt on them like a regular potato. Now, I just bake them until they are super toasty and then I keep them around so that I can grab one to eat for snacks. I learned that "trick" from my Korean friends. They are soooooo yummy and filling by themselves. I was at one of my favorite stores this past weekend and I saw this book. Look what I found! Sweet potatoes are one of the SUPER foods! I guess they are indeed a great snack!
