The Roosevelt Island Tram shut down today and will not re-open until September. I still have NEVER gone on this tram and I seem to never be able to "scratch it off my list." I planned to do it this summer (I plan to every summer) but I guess that wont be happening. Oh well! 
There are many amazing photos of the tram and the 59th St. bridge on-line. I really liked these black and white shots though.
Have you seen any movies with the tram in it? City Slickers, King Kong, Spiderman??
