NYC Condoms for everyone!

It happened! I finally found the infamous NYC Condoms! Don't worry mom... I don't have any need for them other than to put it into my collection of weird NYC stuff...breathe! Anyway....the city gives out free condoms, personal lubricant, and HIV protection literature to basically anyone who wants it. There are big posters around the city to promote safe sex too! (Here is another poster) You can find bowls of these items at most of the city buildings and in almost every bar and club across the 5 boroughs. I had seen the "regular" condoms before but never had the privilege of seeing the new NYC condoms since I don't frequent bars and don't have much need for the city offices. The reason they are so cool is because they are unique to the city. They have the words NYC CONDOM spelled out in the train number font. Does that make sense? If you are from NYC you will know what I mean. Anyway....yesterday, I went to the NYC Department of Health and Mental Services to get a Tuberculosis and HIV test done for work. The Board of Education requires everyone to get the TB test and the HIV test was basically for fun. I walked in the lobby and it was like a group of angels had blinded me with their radiance...sitting on a table was a huge bowl of NYC condoms. The hallelujah choir started up and I approached the bowl to get my...repeat...MY... very own NYC condom. I have sent it off to Michael's to be framed in a shadow box and it will be ready for pickup next week....I am now officially protected!
