Samara, Costa Rica

Me on the beach.... Dad and I enjoying some tropical drinks and chilling on the beach couches at Shake Joe's.A game of Volleyball anyone??Mom and Dad walking on the beach back to our "home" away from home.Papaya anyone??Who can guess what these are? Don't they look like ping pong balls? My mom and I went on the neatest adventure EVER last night. We left with a couple of Costa Rican guys at 8:30 pm and didn't get back until midnight. Sound interesting yet? Well, they took us 45 minutes out of our town to a beach called Camaronal. We went there to see the turtle nestings. It was amazing! We watched HUGE (ENORMOUS) turtles come out of the water and make tracks up the beach so that they could lay their eggs. We couldn't use any flashlights (they had a red light though that doesn't bother the turtles) and so we watched them under the light of the full moon. It was amazing! I loved learning about them and see them drop 100-150 eggs into a hole before covering it up and returning to the ocean. It was great!Mom by the fishing boats.....Beautiful Samara Beach before a rainstorm today.Cute little boy with his horses. He takes people up and down the beach (kind of like a taxi). Sometimes you will see him with tourists and other times he has the local people with all of their grocery bags, etc. Cute kid!

Thanks Morin....you should pack up the girls and come visit here too. :)

SheRoos....it was pretty neat to see those turtles. We should plan a trip down here together sometime. It is actually VERY family friendly. Now....did you have that little baby yet? :)
