Father's Day across the miles....

This year my dad is further away than usual on Father's Day....he is in Costa Rica. Regardless of the miles between us, the love that I have for my dad is immense. I am so thankful to be his daughter and to have him as a mentor and friend. I still look up at him with the same "my daddy is the best and can do anything" eyes that most little girls have for their fathers from a very young age. There is no one stronger, smarter, adventurous, or loving as my dad. I love him and I am so thankful for his current calling as a missionary alongside my mom in Costa Rica. They are working so hard there and I was able to see how loved they are by the members and people of their community as I visited them over the holidays. Dad, you still amaze me with your love for family and others.....always willing to sacrifice for the betterment of others. I love you!

My 1st graders and I made cards for our fathers this year. We decorated ties and then wrote on them so that when our dad's lifted up the tie they would see a message. Here are the two ties that I made for my dad (examples for the kids).

Happy Father's Day!!
