Adios Amiga....

Sarah and I have been friends since Kindergarten. We have had more slumber parties and laughs than most people get to share with that one single friend. It is ironic that two girls from AZ both ended up in NYC at the same time. It is even more odd that Sarah and her hubby would pick up their first mortgage together in the SAME exact neighborhood that I served in as a missionary in Brooklyn. We have had lots of fun hanging out together in the city over the last few years. Now, after 8 years of her living here, their little family has decided to pack up and move back to AZ to be near family. I am going to miss them a lot. I guess I'll have to move back to AZ so that we can continue to have "slumber parties and laughs" and so that I can be near family too. Only time will tell.....

We met up for dinner at one of Sarah's favorite places in the city, Boca Chica. It was delicious and the conversation wasn't bad either....At some point during dinner, the need for a pedicure was mentioned. It was decided that the nail shop across the street was calling our names. We closed the place down and then walked up Broadway in the humid summer breeze and found ourselves in Union Square. After a stroll and quick chat on one of the benches, the moving boxes at Sarah's apartment beckoned her to get home. She bought her last Metrocard, kindly swiped my fare for me too, and we split ways on the platform. She took the downtown Q to Brooklyn and took the Q uptown to so I could grab the LIRR at Penn Station on my way home.I have no idea why I wrote this like some desperate guy losing his first love or something...ha! In all seriousness, it was a fun night and I will miss the whole Lindsay-James Family....especially little "M" but I should be home for the holidays and to see little "Sandi" born in January. Here's to more fun times in the future!
