I have called this "little corner of the school" my home this year. I have always LOVED this room and little did I know that I would be teaching in it this year. Some have referred to my "corner" as the South Bronx but that is okay. There is some truth to it....but I still have had loads of fun with these cute 1st graders.
We only have two weeks of school left and so that means that it is time to take things down and to clean up. I have always made an effort to display projects that we have done outside on the walls. It kind of breaks my heart to take down our latest work. I love our fractions pizzas the most!

This was a fun way to teach 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 fractions.
We used these plates to make "part and total boxes" as we learned about longs (tens) and cubes (ones). They did a great job with this work!
I have now taught 3rd grade, 5th grade, and 1st grade. I have to admit that 1st has been SUPER challenging with the particular group that I have this year. With that said, it has been a wonderful experience for me to work so closely with such a diverse group of little kids. I am going to miss them all!

Ha..that is funny about the "born to be a teacher." It has been a great experience over the last 4/5 years to teach but I think I am hanging up the "chalk." I know I will dissapoint alot of my friends....but I cant keep doing something that doesnt challenge and keep me interested anymore.
