Bengali Photo Fun.....

I live next to MANY (pretty much ALL) of the kids that I teach. It has been really fun to get to know their families! I get to visit different parts of the world with every door & home that I enter. Sometimes I "visit" three or four countries in one day. Very fun! These pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago. This family is from Bangladesh and they are wonderful. They are so kind and their daughter is eager to learn. Well, I was on my way out the other night and they busted out their camera. Of course....I busted out mine too! We were taking regular pictures and then all of a sudden....I noticed that the mother was "primping" in the mirror!Piasha (my student) and I almost LOST it! We were laughing soooooo hard!
The hair came down....the jewelry came on!Notice the positioning of her hands to perfectly display each bangle? Ah-mazing! This picture was posed to show off the jewelry as well. After about 50 more pictures and poses...I finally had to end the fun. I have to admit that the tears were rolling down my cheeks at one point. It was pretty funny!But...before I went,Piasha wanted to pose in front of the Buddha that they worship.

She insisted on giving me a lesson about the difference between the "skinny" Buddha that they worship and the "big belly" Buddha that many Asian people worship. I loved hearing her say "big belly" with her accent. Very cute!
See ya later Barua family!
