Celebrating Summer....

I met up with some friends (a family that I know here) in the park for a BBQ to celebrate the end of summer. All I had to do was show up.....I did bring a kite and some munchies though. Fun times! We just couldn't get this kite to stay up in the air. It was windy but I guess not strong enough. Some other people had the cheaper plastic kites and they got them up but they would start to fall easily. We'll have to head to the beach for some stronger winds or something.I loved hanging out with this little guy. He is going to Pre-K this year but he is such a little "lightweight" that I cant believe he is really ready for school. What a cutie! Can you see the tiny flower in his hands?The one funny thing about the day was where they chose to "set up camp." This park is enormous and covers several miles. There are lakes, ponds, fountains, etc. Where did they choose to set up? Under the on ramp to the expressway. So funny! I understand why though....it was extremely hot and they wanted to shade. There lots of other people under there too. Ha!
Watermelon time!This picture is a little "slobbery" but I thought it was so cute because it captures how happy he was chomping on his watermelon. He was dowwwwning the watermelon. Check out this family that rented this bike. They had to push it because the "peddlers" didn't have enough strength to peddle the whole tribe.

Here is their whole family. They are from El Salvador and they are one of the best little families that I know out here. They do EVERYTHING together and are very strong. Thanks for the fun BBQ and great food!
