Tiptoe through the tulips....

I love Spring in the city and the best part is all of the amazing flowers that fill up our parks, yards, and MACY's! That is right....Macy's has a HUGE flower show every year at their flagship store in Herald Square. They always have the most extravagant displays of over 30,000 beautiful flowers and trees and the ENTIRE store smells divine. This is the 34th year and I think that they really "went all out."
One of the signs over the entrances

It is hard to take a picture that shows how the flowers are displayed. They have them hanging all over the displays and sitting on the planters shelves and bridges that outline all of the walls, beams, and columns. Let's just say that they are EVERYWHERE. The plants are "planted" in soil too....it isn't like they are just sitting in vases or something.
This is the main arrangement (they have a revolving theme arrangement every year) and it is a replica of the Macy's at Herald Square to celebrate the 150 year anniversary of the store. It is all made out of little twigs and grains, etc....very intricate work. Oh, and yes...the store is that tall...it is 10 floors and even has an additional two 1/2 floors....it is over 100 million square feet of selling space and that is why it is called the "world's largest store."
This is one of my favorite window displays outside. They have this mannequin dressed in a great gown that is made out of flowers.
This is my favorite! I love the rose gown that they made for this goddess!

That is so neat. I hope the workers don't have allergies.
I have been in a zombie state (being a new mom) and have been behind on checking out your blog. Your entries are awesome-keep them coming!
