NYC Doorknob history:101

I am in different NYC schools almost every day. Some of the schools are new (built within the last 20 years) but most of the schools have been around for 100 years. I love the schools because the buildings are so rich in history and they seem like they are right out of a movie. The buildings are so different from any of the schools that I have seen in the West. Anyway.... I noticed that there were some really cool doorknobs in one of the schools the other day.

Inside doorknobThis knob is my favorite though....I saw this at a totally different school in Queens. I might be crazy but I think that this kind of stuff is so cool! There is no way that any school these days would put such detail onto a doorknob that is on the door to a bathroom stall. Very interesting little piece of history!
