My mom and I tried out a new restaurant in Prescott yesterday. It is called the Firehouse Kitchen and it was built where the OLD Prescott firehouse used to be.....hence the name and theme of the restaurant. It kind of reminds me of a bistro-style restaurant that I frequent in Brooklyn....nice decorations and atmosphere. It's all organic "comfort" food.....it was pretty dang good food!
Mom chomping some cornbread croutons on her salad...........(the dressing was brilliant!)
This is what THE BEST part of the meal for me.....the BBQ Brisket sandwich with shoestring fries. Two words....Crazy Good! These were the skinniest fries I have EVER had....and the sandwich had so much meat on it that I felt like I had eaten the whole cow. They must have slow cooked it for a while because the flavor was intense and the meat was super tender. My dad is the biggest BBQ critic around and I think that he even would have given it a big thumbs up! The only bummer is that they don't have this sandwich on the menu every day. I'll have to take my dad there next time I visit my folks....I'll have to call first and check the menu though because I want him to try the brisket sandwich and I want to make sure they have it. I'll probably get the mac and cheese because a gal at one of the boutiques in the plaza told me it was "to die for." Firehouse Kitchen = SUPER delicious!
Then we went to Harkins and saw the movie Swing Vote with Kevin Costner. It was pretty cute! He played the "irresponsible drunk dad" role and his daughter was an adorable "very responsible" young girl. They have their ups and downs but the storyline is heartwarming as well as down right silly at times. The only real negative is that he throws out a swear word or two every once in a while to support his "red-neckness." I think I would recommend it as a good rental though.............

always wanted to go there. your mom and i talked about it, but with 2 babies i don't get out to lunch much. i used to clean the lady's house until she said she didn't have enough money to pay me. those fries look like spencers. i'm sure he will be pissed to see that someone is already serving his fries! i love em that skinny. they are super yummy around here! beak.
Ya....it was pretty good food...a little more expensive than we expected but not too bad. (Still better than what I pay in NY). The fries are actually SKINNIER than Spencer's. They were like total strings.....not squared...know what I mean?
