A really big radish.....

These are daikon radishes....big right? The name is a Japanese word that literally means....really big radish. Anyway, Korean people call this radish Moo. There are so many things that you can do with it in cooking. I recently made two of my favorite moo dishes with a few of my friends. They are both kimchi/pan chan dishes. They both included a lot of green onion/scallion and lots of garlic....yum!Then you add in lots of this crushed hot pepper.....Mix it together with salt, crushed Korean pear, shrimp and anchovy sauce, etc. Let it sit a while....and then your good to go. This dish is called Gak Duki....YUM!Here is another dish....it is all shredded and just a slight change of ingredients. Very fresh!I added this next picture because I thought it was humorous. It is a package of dried seaweed that people usually mix into their rice. Notice the selling point printed in green letters. "A good side dish when having rice or drinking beer." How funny....seaweed and beer. Each culture embraces different things....right?!
