Pier 1, Brooklyn....

I love the parks that are along the East River. I usually go to Gantry State Park in Long Island City (Queens) but I also like to visit Brooklyn Bridge Park (specifically, Pier 1). I needed some fresh air and time in the sunshine since we have been gray and rainy for a week or so. It was divine! The old Brooklyn Bridge....Just sitting on the pier watching the boats and water taxi's sail by....

Can you believe the view from this park? I saw kids flying kites and I thought that it was just a magical setting to play in. This is where I have gone to "movies in the park" and you watch a movie with the city in the background. Amazing! The only things missing in this picture are the twin towers....such a loss!
They have these funky tables along the water. You can sit and chat or have a romantic candlelit dinner...beautiful! You can sit and look at the Statue of Liberty in the distance or check out the skyline and bridges.
There were lots of brides out and about.....
These little kids have no idea how lucky they are. "Ya, kids...let's go swing under the Brooklyn Bridge." Lucky ducks!!

I agree, such a beautiful setting and sooooooooo relaxing. Just let the world go by as you watch people and enjoy the scenery. The New York Bridges are really cool.
