There is no better way to start off the HOT and STEAMY 4th of July in NYC than with an Italian Ice from The Lemon Ice King of Corona.
The best part is that I don't even have to go to Corona to buy them anymore.....they opened a new place in Whitestone and my friend runs it. I got cherry like always. Yes, I know I am boring but it is delicious and it reminds me of Snow Oasis, a place I used to go to all of the time as kid in AZ.
So, with red stained lips, I took advantage of some of the great sales and then went home for a BBQ.

We finished up school here in NYC on June 28
th. I wanted to have an "Independence Day" themed lesson for our last day of Social Studies in my class. I told all of the parents to send their kids to school in a red, white, or blue shirt. To finish up our day, I set up my little "photo shoot station" (like I did for Valentines Day.....all of my friends at school tease me about my "photo sessions" ha!) and we got to work. I wanted to send them home with a special picture but also with an Americana theme since ALL of my kids come from immigrant families who have recently come to the USA. I think they turned out great! Here are a few of my "super star" students from this year.....

I hope you had a great 4
th of July!

so so cute! I love your blog. I love your pictures and adventures that you have. You have a super life!
Wow.....that school has no idea how much they are going to miss you! Not to mention all your students! What darling ideas and what fun your students got to be a part of. I'm sure they all went home with smiles on their faces, their colorful leis around their necks, happy to be an American kid!
