I woke up and it was snowy and everything looked like it had been sprinkled with powdered sugar
I went to Beak's house and she highlighted my hair.....yup...I am kind of a blonde now (I'll post pics of my hair later).
We had the most amazing and fattening lunch ever. Jalapeno poppers, guac and chips, wickedly sassy cranberry salsa, and bocky bock (her husbands oustanding buffalo chicken strips). It was fun because believe it or not, Prescott schools called a snow day today and so all of her kids were there and we all hung out and chomped our kitchen creations.
Then tonight my parents and I went over to visit our only family in Prescott. My dad has an Aunt who is 98 years old and lives in the heart of Prescott. She has basically been here since this place was put on the map. She lives in a little house that her husband built YEARS ago....probably in the late 40's. It is in perfect shape and is exactly how it was when it was built. The ceilings are so low in the bedrooms that I can touch them, the door knobs are placed very low on the doors, it is such a neat home. I love going to her house because it is very cute and it reminds me that people used to raise perfectly happy families in small homes. They didnt need to have HUGE extravagant living spaces in order to make it work. The kids back in those days were outside playing most of the time anyway and then they would all pile into a room to sleep. I guess I am rambling... so ...
Anyway...she is so adorable, tiny, and so full of life. She still lives on her own, cooks, washes her clothes, does all of the cleaning, etc. She is amazing. I love to visit her and to listen to her stories. She has the best sense of humor and is always cracking jokes. I love you Aunt Inez.
