Korean Kimbap.....

Korean Kimbap.....deliciousness! We all know that sushi originally came from Japan. Other countries now have their own versions of sushi rolls too. I am sure that everyone has eaten the popular California Roll. Well, Korean Kimbap sushi rolls are delicious! I usually order a BBQ squid roll and but this time I didn't have to order anything....we made it instead!Making these rolls (Korean Style) is a tedious and LONG process. Of course there are all kinds of rolls. We happened to make one that had pretty much EVERYTHING in it. They use a mandolin to slice their vegetables and other ingredients in long strips. It all has to be the right length so that when you slice the rolls, every part of the roll has the veggies in it. Here we are cooking the egg in a pan that is especially made for making sushi. We took the egg out and cut it into long strips. Here we have the strips...carrot, sesame spinach, Korean sausage/hot dog, egg, sweet radish, daikon root, odeng fish cake, and crab. You spread out your rice and then lay everything down so that the strips lay from end to end. That way each piece will have all of the veggies when you cut it up.Then you roll it, cut it, and eat it! YUM! We rolled about 40 that day. We saved some for later and then we cut up the rest and had lunch. It was very tasty! Thanks for teaching me Connie Oma! I appreciate it!I like the ends of the roll. Yum!
